It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of Kristján Guðmundsson. He was one of the most important conceptual artists to emerge from Iceland in the mid-1960s. He became widely known for his radical minimal work and continued to explore his minimalist themes, particularly the poetic tension between something and nothing.

HAM Helsinki Art Museum has curated a collection of 70 artworks for the newly renovated Finlandia Hall, including works by Helsinki School artists Elina Brotherus, Anni Leppälä, Jorma Puranen, and Sandra Kantanen. Finlandia Hall is open to the public as of January 4, 2025.
